We partnered with Austrian startup WAF GmbH to develop WeAreFootball.com, a dedicated social media app built exclusively for football. The platform gave players, fans, and clubs their own digital home, combining community features with real-time engagement tools such as a live ticker for match coverage—even down to Austria’s lowest leagues.

The Challenge

Traditional social networks lacked depth for the football world. WAF wanted a product that could:

  • Allow players to showcase themselves and interact with fans.
  • Give clubs a space to build their digital presence and even monetize engagement.
  • Offer fans localized news, rumors, and transfers in a personalized feed.
  • Cover matches in real time through a community-driven ticker.

Our Solution

We delivered a cross-platform application (iOS & Android) with dedicated user flows for each audience:

  • Players built personal profiles and engaged with supporters.
  • Fans followed their favorite clubs and players, receiving curated updates.
  • Clubs managed official pages and leveraged tools for engagement and revenue.
  • Live Ticker enabled match coverage by authorized contributors, extending coverage beyond professional leagues.

The apps were rolled out through the App Store and Google Play, with versioned releases ensuring iterative improvements over 2021–2022.

Outcome

The result was a specialized football network where community, content, and competition came together in one place. By focusing on real-time interaction and audience-specific experiences, WeAreFootball.com created a new digital channel for Austria’s football ecosystem.
