01
The brief
A pregnancy app that puts the mother’s health first — not just the baby’s.
Carea is a pregnancy and postnatal wellbeing app founded by Anastasia Shubareva-Epshtein. Most apps in the category track the baby and stop there. Carea’s position is that the woman going through IVF, pregnancy, birth and the months after needs tracking too — physical recovery, mood, medication — and that the one in five new mothers who face mental-health challenges after birth are the ones nobody is logging.
The product was designed around four journeys in one app: a week-by-week pregnancy tracker, a baby tracker for sleep, feeding, diapers and growth, a postpartum Mum Tracker developed with maternal-medicine specialist Dr Gergana Peeva, and an IVF medication schedule. Carea brought the designs. We built the app.
02
The approach
One codebase, four trackers, and a data model that treats a check-in as the unit of work.
Everything in Carea is an entry against a day: a nap with a start and an end, a feed by breast, bottle or pump, a dose of medication, a mood score out of ten, a pain rating by site. We built the app around that — a calendar-first structure where every tracker reads and writes the same timeline, so the dashboard can summarise the last seven days without a separate reporting layer.
The Mum Tracker was the most demanding module: a daily mood check-in plus physical well-being covering perineal and C-section pain, bleeding and discharge, incision healing, breast health, sleep and nutrition, each with defined ranges so the app can say what’s normal. The IVF module adds medication schedules with dosage, frequency and two reminders per dose, a cycle progress bar, a journal, and podcast-and-article content by trimester.
03
The outcome
Live on iOS and Android, with the Postpartum Mum Tracker shipped in November 2025.
Carea: Pregnancy Tracker is on the App Store and Google Play. The Postpartum Mum Tracker launched in November 2025; IVF mode and support for pregnancy after loss followed on the roadmap for early 2026.
The app covers the whole arc — trying, expecting, newborn, recovering — in a single install, with the mother’s check-in on the home screen next to the baby’s.
